BrainWorking Recursive Technique® (BWRT®) was created in 2011 by Terence Watts, a therapist, author of many books and training courses and principal of the Essex Institute in Essex, UK.
BWRT® – Brain Working Recursive Technique® – is a new model of psychology and psychopathology that fits comfortably with current thinking on neuroscience.
Like many great ideas it was born out of a moment of inspiration while reading about some experiments carried out in 1983 and later which appeared to show that we don't actually have free will in the way we usually think of it. More than that, it showed that decisions were made and acted upon by our mental processes before we become consciously aware of them.
It has a featured chapter in the academic book "The Bright Side of Shame" (published by Springer) and was the subject of a 2018 Ph.D. awarded from Lincoln University in the UK. It is currently (as of May 2022) the subject of a clinical trial being funded and conducted by the University of Bergen, Norway: https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/34696777/
BWRT is being used worldwide
BWRT is now in use all over the world by psychologists, hypnotherapists, medical practitioners, psychiatrists, counsellors, coaches and more. It is in regular use by the psychologists in a South African Police Force, thanks to its ability to resolve even quite severe PTSD in a session or two getting officers quickly back on the road.
* If the symptom or difficulty for which you are seeking help is part of, or likely to be part of, any legal proceedings, please take legal advice before embarking on, since BWRT® changes your perception and responses to past events.
***Only Certified Practitioners have been trained to deliver BWRT® and all have to adhere to a strict ethical code. Find out more at http://www.bwrt.org
